If you chat on the Java chat, a security applet will pop up, after you have entered your chat username and password. You have to confirm this applet with ok or yes - else the lesbian chat won't load!

If you get this error message: Unable to connect: Null then you have either clicked on "No" or the applet won't load itself.

If you have clicked on No by mistake, then close ALL your browser window and log in again. If it didn't load itself, please click here for further information: Applet Help

What is mIRC / Ircle?
mIRC (for Microsoft Windows) and Ircle (for Apple Macintosh) are external chat programs that allow you to access this free lesbian chat from the SHOE Lesbian community without login on through the SHOE Lesbian Community website. The advantage is, that if the SHOE Lesbian Community website is down for maintenance, you will still be able to the lesbian chat through these external chat programs. Some of these programs may cost.

IRC works by typing certain commands where you normally type your text. You will find all commands in our very extensive help file where you can search by keyword. Here are the most important ones:

Join a channel
Type: /join #channel
Example: /join #trivia

List all channels
Type: /list

View other chatters profile
Type: /msg nickserv info nickname
Example: /msg nickserv info NEKA

Viewing profiles on the Java Chat
Simply right click on the name in the userlist and then click on "SHOE Nickpage".

Viewing profiles on the HTML Chat
Click on the requested name in the userlist, choose "Nickpage" and then click on the ">>" button.

The user ID to the nickpage will be shown to you in the chat status window. It looks like this: http://1004.shoe.org Just click on it and you will be taken to the chatters SHOE profile.


Send a private message to another member
Type: /query nickname
Example: /query NEKA

Action Message
Type: /me Message
Example: /me waves hello
This is what it would look like to others: * NEKA waves hello

Ignoring a chatter
Type: /ignore nickname
Example: /ignore Heidi

Rejoin the lesbian chatroom if you have been disconnected and your chatnick is still in use
Type: /msg nickserv GHOST nickname [password]
Example: /msg nickserv GHOST NEKA und your password

IRC chats are so great, because you can have your very own free lesbian chatroom with your very own topics. As a lesbian chatroom owner you will be automatically the operator. There are two ways to go about it:

Temporary free lesbian chatroom
By typing: /join #yourroomname a new channel is being created automatically. You will also be the operator - meaning in charge - of that room. Once you leave the lesbian chat, the room will close.

Permanent free lesbian chatroom
We offer you the possibility to register your very own free lesbian chatroom. The advantage of the permanent room is, that no-one else can have a room named the same as you. As a lesbian chatroom owner you will be automatically the operator and have certain powers. Having registered your own free lesbian chat room, you can save all the settings like the topic, description. You can also assign the operator status to another member. Please make sure, your description includes: 18+ only

If your lesbian chatroom has not been used for more than 150 days, it will be deleted.

Channel operator (CHOP) is just a user like you. If you see an @ sign before someone's nick, it means that person has CHOP status. The operator can kick and ban users from the channel for breaking the SHOE Houserules. No action may be taken for personal reasons. Every kick and ban needs to be reported by the CHOPs to the SHOE Team to prevent power trips by individual CHOPs.

These SHOE CHOPs are just like any other user, but also have the added RESPONSIBILITY of helping to keep the SHOE Chatroom a safe and happy place to chat :-)
This means that a SHOE CHOPs job (break your tongue *g*) is to make sure, that everyone is abiding by the SHOE Houserules, that new users are made feel welcomed and assist with any questions users may have about the SHOE Chatrooms.
In order to do a good job, a SHOE CHOP is given added powers in order to kick/ban users.

Please do not ask us to become a CHOP. We select users ourselves who we believe are fit to do the job right.


If you encounter a problem with a CHOP, please contact us directly . We will then look into the matter and if necessary take appropriate steps.

If you see the symbol @ in one of the user channels (channels created by users themselves with their own topic) means that this person is the owner of that room and may kick you out of their channel for any reason.

If you don't like this, you complain to them or start your own free lesbian chatroom channel and become a channel operator there yourself.

We do everything we can, to provide you with a safe and cosy free lesbian chatroom. If you notice anyone not abiding by the rules or netiquette, please report them immediately to us. You can do this by sending NEKA a private message.

Type: /msg neka REPORT <nickname> <reason>

where <nickname> is the nickname of the abusing person and <reason> the reason, why you are reporting this user.
